Chris There is a similar photo in Fletchers War Cars with the caption"KT tyres studded tyres for driving on snow" From your photo there doesn't seem to be much snow!!!!
This is Austin 2nd Series, named "Oleg" from 36 Automobile-MG platoon of Russian Imperial army, captured by Germans in sommer 1917 in the Romanian front (South-West Russian front). The Austin is no rebuilt, have british tyres and no MG-side-armour (many british Austins was in Russia rebuilt with new stark armour and have russian tyres from type "Gussmatique").
36 Automobile-MG platoon have three armoured cars: 2x Austin 2nd ("Oleg" and "Vityaz") and 1x Garford-Poutiloff ("Bayan")
Chris, have you a big picture? I have others two pictures of "Oleg", also not so big.

"Gussmatique" (Gussmatic) - these are Russian tyres (J. Guss's patent 1912, St.Petersburg), filled with a special chemical compound as foam, they held shots from weapon (rifle), but were lungs and allowed to go quickly as on pneumatic, and English tyres were from continuous rubber as at trucks, on them quickly it was impossible to go. Other photos "Oleg" (only litle), Wheel of Austin with Gussmatic and advert of J. Guss.
