Looking at various photos of the Austin (as used by the British) there are appears to be distinctive numbers etc on some. Has anyone any info. on what these were.
I am looking to include a set in the forthcoming kit but need good information.
Many thanks
Barry

Barry, I'm thinking that you mean markings like this:

where there is a small '2' inside a large '3' in this example.

I think the numbers are to do with cars and squadrons. But in the example in the above link I don't know if it would be 'number 2 car in third squadron' or 'number 3 car in second squadron'. (of the 17th battalion).

Other cars have the numbers painted in a different style:

but it seems as though there is always a large number and a small number.

Will your model be released soon? Any other news from WD?

Phil
As usual many thanks having included a transfer set from Michel for the Dennis I thought it wise to try and get as much info for the Austin!!!
As to news I am waiting for the etch sheet to go with the Dennis this will also include the "Dennis" plate that goes on the radiator other bits include mudgaurds, strapping for the cab footsteps etc. so with the transfer set it will be a fairly comprehensive kit apologies for the delay.
I am hoping to get to the Castors with the Austin,Ambulance,Vickers Clyno and the limbers. It's just finding the time!!!! So please bear with me.
Without you lot on the Forum things would be a lot harder many thanks to you all.
Cheers
Barry John
