Im searching for detailed pics or drawings about the winch system fitted to Mk IVs, and about the way the ramp was fixed/released Tanks to all, Chris.

Hi Chris

I am not sure if detailed plans exist but David Fletcher at Bovington would be the best place to make enquires.

There is the classic photo of a Operation Hush tank along with a basic drawing in the New Vanguard British Mark IV Tank book published by Osprey.

Best of luck

If you can get to the National Archives at Kew, London there's drawings and an explanation of the mode of operation in WO 106/377. However be warned it won't answer all your questions. I have a copy of the relevant pages here, but can't post it for copyright reasons - and the fact that I value my National Archives reader's ticket!
