Fantastic Clyno Motorcycle combination, as used by the Motor Machine Gun Corps, and due to be released in 1/76 scale by WD Models later this year, which i've been waiting years for!

If you want larger copies of these photographs, let me know your e-mail address and i'll send you the originals

Douglas 2 3/4hp Motorcycle, as used by Dispatch Riders and frequently seen in RNAS photos accompanying Armoured Cars and Armoured Lorries, as well as used by the Motor Machine Gun Corps as solo machines alongside Motorcycle and Vickers Sidecar combinations, up next

Rob how well do the W^D models scale with the current Hat WWI or Emhar WWI 1/72 scale figures? Iam particularly interested as I want to do a force of Corps Mounted Troops for 1918!. The combination of 3 companies of scouts (who could be bicycle mounted), the Corps Cavalry regiment plus a Motor MG battery for starters is very appealing. Then add in some Armourd Cars, Lorry carried Stokes With some (potentially lorried infantry), horse artillery - what delightful fun!

Cheers, Brennan.biggrin

A bit cheeky but have a look at the W^D website.

Compared to the midget HaT figures, i'd have thought very well! I've got a few WD figures and they look right - not too tall or too short, or too fat/thin

Thanks, Rob. Now if you want real midgets go look at 6mm WWI! (Dwarf scale being "true" 15mm as they always look rather out of proportion to me).

Will pass on the comments to a couple of friends who are also looking at armoured cars etc - either for the Middle East or Russia.

Best wishes, Brennan

My Grandfather James Bate served in WW1 as  Motor Cycle Machine Gunner and survived. This photo is from the Tank Museum with GF stand extreme left.

If anyone has any information about these soldiers and division etc I would be most interested in hearing from you.

Hi, I am planning to scratch build a Clyno combination so was extremely pleased to read your kind offer of copies of your photographs of the real machine. I would also like to pick your brains if I may. Can you recall how the vickers was attached to the sidecar? I cannot find a shot showing this detail.

Please be assured of my thanks for your kind offer.

warm regards

John
