Fantastic Clyno Motorcycle combination, as used by the Motor Machine Gun Corps, and due to be released in 1/76 scale by WD Models later this year, which i've been waiting years for!
If you want larger copies of these photographs, let me know your e-mail address and i'll send you the originals
Douglas 2 3/4hp Motorcycle, as used by Dispatch Riders and frequently seen in RNAS photos accompanying Armoured Cars and Armoured Lorries, as well as used by the Motor Machine Gun Corps as solo machines alongside Motorcycle and Vickers Sidecar combinations, up next
Rob how well do the W^D models scale with the current Hat WWI or Emhar WWI 1/72 scale figures? Iam particularly interested as I want to do a force of Corps Mounted Troops for 1918!. The combination of 3 companies of scouts (who could be bicycle mounted), the Corps Cavalry regiment plus a Motor MG battery for starters is very appealing. Then add in some Armourd Cars, Lorry carried Stokes With some (potentially lorried infantry), horse artillery - what delightful fun!
Compared to the midget HaT figures, i'd have thought very well! I've got a few WD figures and they look right - not too tall or too short, or too fat/thin
Hi, I am planning to scratch build a Clyno combination so was extremely pleased to read your kind offer of copies of your photographs of the real machine. I would also like to pick your brains if I may. Can you recall how the vickers was attached to the sidecar? I cannot find a shot showing this detail.Â
Please be assured of my thanks for your kind offer.
warm regardsÂ
John
