In Summer 1918, at the end of the First World War, an american soldier in Bourron (in France : South of Fontainebleau) fall in love with a belgium refugee.
He want to marry her but the father don't want it.
Some months later, after the 11 November 1918, Charles go back to the States and never seen the young lady.
In May 1919, a little girl is born, who never known is father and even never seen a photo from his father.
Since 18 years, in Belgium, Karine is always searching informations about her great grandfather.
Bourron was a French tank training center from Artillerie Spéciale working with some American units.
Charles, our american soldier, was probably member of 2nd Air Motor Mechanics Regiment ( 2nd Battalion - 7th Coy), and perhaps working as cook (or around mess activities).
On a list of the 7th Coy, a name : Charles B. Reed is perhaps this men.
Our Charles was coming from Illinois and his father was also in the Army.
I try to found for Karine informations on his family.
Some other informations (in french . . . .) on my other usual forum.
