Unfortunately, the Forum does not have a Comedy category, which is where this belongs.

Am I alone in having received this email from Mr. Bailey?

Hi,
The Patriot Files located at
http://www.patriotfiles.com has begun to
archive military websites. This project has been undertaken due to the
high number of lost military websites with the closing of several large
free hosting services. If you have a military website that you would
like to have archived or if you know of one that should be archived
before it is lost please contact David at
webmaster@patriotfiles.com to
arrange to have the site archived. Please pass this along to other
military website webmasters and supporters.

About The Patriot Files

The Patriot Files is a founding member of the Library of Congress
Veterans History Project and is a private and donation funded add free
website. The Patriot Files has been online for close to 10 years and was
built to preserve military history.

David
Webmaster

It seems he was just doing us a favour all along.

It's a real skill to be able to bullshit whilst maintaining a facade of respectability. His talents would be better used in running PR for various national governments - Burma and North Korea come to mind.

Since Landships clearly isn't going away he can remove his "archived" content from Patriotfiles.

I guess he's never heard of archive.org?

Regards,

Charlie

On behalf of the Landships Committee I responded to this email, thanking him for his concern but assuring him that Landships has no need of his services. I also took the opportunity to remind him that permission must be sought and gained to copy any and all Landships material.
