Went yesterday  to Lincoln to look at Flirt II. Though this piece of 'trench art' interesting.

You also sometimes see them hollowed out and put on sticks (often entrenching tool handles) and used as trench raiding weapons

Hi RCD,

nice piece of trench art that is! But, what exactly is it, a chandelier or an ash tray?
And the top, is that a rifle grenade or something?
Rob: a grenade used as a clubbing device, that's some recycling isn't it?
The picture: Belgians tinkering and making trench art. Stories are that the Belgian soldiers were not happy with their new bayonets, the old ones were found much more practical for hobbying, opening cans etc.

Candle stick holders marked with the Lincolnshire regiment badge. The top part are rifle granades.
