Hello Gentleman


   This of course is a hypothetical question. I am in the process of scratch building a 1/35 scale K-Wagen. I have been thinking about how to paint this colossal machine. My theory is since the prototypes were not finished before the end of the war, they might have carried the late war Latin crosses, in stead of the standard Iron Crosses. All models I have seen seem to have the Later. I do agree that the K-Wagon would have carried skull and crossbones, on the front glacis, but I don’t see it being all feldgrau??. Something that huge would need a good camouflage, don’t you agree?????. I would like to see one painted with small patches of pal green, red brown, and clay yellow over feldgrau, similar to the A7V 560 in April 24, 1918 (Hundleby/Strasheim page201). Now to the question, I would like to take a census of everybody's opinion on how to hypothetically camouflage, and mark a K-Wagan.

I agree, all Field Grey will be too drab. I would go for the standard late-war "buntenfarben-anstrich", i.e. patches of Red Brown, Pale Green and Sand over Field Grey, all colours being separated by *thin* black lines - not like the ones on MY K-WAgen: they are too thick. And who can resist the old skull?!



BTW: scratching the K-Wagen: Golly, how long will it be???

Peter, Thanks for your input. The model will be roughly 14 inches long, its going to be huge. I will send pictures. The hardest thing so far is the tracks

Well I think the tauro tracks are good but would you reall waste 35-40 $ for tracks?
But if you could get them seperatly, as for me I am starting scratch building safe, the mendelejev tank, one big box

Hello Eugene


   First the A7V tracks are different, The K-Wagen tracks were from steam shovels, they are twice to three times as big as the A7V.
