That's very nice. Looks like captured Russian Maxims on the Eastern Front. Wouldn't mind an i.d. on the truck and motorbike.

This truck has such a narrow frontal wheelbase I thought it was a tricycle at first sight.

The bike is either an NSU or Wanderer; I'm favoring the later as it was the most prolific model used.

Jaroslav's pic of the MG combination is most interesting. A long time ago I enquired about an exerpt from the 1960s BBC series The Great War in which an Italian veteran described being harassed during the retreat from Caporetto by machine guns mounted on motorcycles. Herr Christian Ortner of the Army Museum in Vienna was adamant that no such machine existed.

Anyone got any more info on it?

I think the combination is an 8hp Sunbeam as this version, which came with a sidecar mounted machine gun, was sold to the Russians prior to the 1917 Revolution.

It is British Scott Motorcycle with Vickers mashine-gun in service of Tomski infanterie-regiment anno 1915 (by Ostravetz) - it is my photo!!! I have more as 20 photos of Scott.

German truck also my! Jaroslav have this stolen in Russian forum  biggrin
