Does anyone know whether the rear port/starboard stowage boxes on the Mk. A were factory items, or were they 'aftermarket' add-ons? I'm scratchbuilding a set in 1:35 and was wondering whether they'd be in the same paint as the rest of the tank...
At the risk of being wrong I believe they were done by the Central Workshops in France and from what I have gathered they would have been the same color as the Whippet.

Paints invariably were mixed from recipes as needed from basic materials pigments oils etc, the final tone would depend on a fair amount of variation but in particular the source of the pigments used, but I would expect the final colour would be fairly similar if not entirely uniform...
I think John is right I can remember reading that somewhere. Matador do a set of stowage boxes and I think they are meant for the Emhar kit. The Millicast kit has the stowage boxes included in the kit.
Based on the photos I've looked at there seemed to be a certain amount of variation in the stowage boxes, which made me wonder whether they were standard equipment. The only really clear pics of them I've seen, ironically enough, were those of the resin kit on the Accurate Armour website... but even those don't show much detail RE: mountings, etc.. If anyone can point me to a better source of information it would be greatly appreciated.
