St. Chamond, Rear View

Greetings,
Recent acquisition of a St.Chamond that I thought modelers might find useful. The rear view shows shovels stored on rear over a large, hollow six-pointed star painted on the back of the vehicle.

Bonjour,

It is Lilly ! Photo taken in Champlieu.

It's, perhaps, an AS 36 St Chamond. This Tank Group seems to be the only one using this system.
There is two other tanks with the same system :
              - St Chamond AsCo1 n° 62731 (Lt Marchand)
              - St Chamond AsCo2 n° 62712 (MdL Paulet).
These two tanks were destroyed on 11 th, June 1918 in Courcelles-Epayelles.
On these two tanks shovels are in horizontal plane.

The hollow six-pointed star is not painted. It's a bronze star.
It's the St Chamond's Factory marking, also founded on ALFV gun and on St Chamond tracted gun.

Bonne soirée - Michel

Michel,
I KNEW you could sort out the details on this photo! Thank you so much. I didn't know that the star was metal and attached to the body. Very good information.

Best regards from U.S.,

John
