Are the original details of this MkIV known to any of you guys? There appears to be the faint trace of a number in front of the sponson.

As usual, the original 3272 x 2076 sized image is available by following the links under the preview photo.

I am in the throes of translating the reverse

Looks like No. 8019 F41 knocked out at Cambrai near the railway station. F41 can be clearly seen on images of the right hand side of the tank - it's nearly invisible on this view of the left side.

The tank was the subject of a number of photographs - there are 5 images of this tank in Rainer Strasheim's Beute-Tanks book.

F41 eventually went on display at the Berlin Zoo.

Regards,

Charlie

This is the German text of the letter from Paul Tietz, addressed to his father in Magdeburg, Albrechtstr. 5  I  [= 1st floor]:

Den 20.3.18.

Liebe Eltern u. [und] Geschw. [Geschwister]!

Für erhaltenen lieben Brief vom 13ten herzl. [herzlichen] Dank.

Euer Paul

Dear parents and siblings!

Thank you very much for the letter from the 13th.

Good to hear that everything is still well at home.

Additional to the big business it begun to rain.

The big manoeuvre will start every hour.  [Hint to the start of the Kaiserschlacht!]

Let us hope the best. ([I am] Still well.

[Hope we will] meet us healthy again.

and many cordial greetings

Your Paul

I agree this is 8019 F41 Fray Bentos II. The tank has tell-tale damage to the shield of the gun in the lefthand side (port) sponson.
