The color of tanks at Gaza?

I was wondering if anyone had any ideas about the color of the tanks at Gaza? I am doing a model of a Mk IV at the Third Battle of Gaza and was wondering what color to paint it. Thanks in advance for replies.

I have had a big interest in the tanks of Gaza and as far as I know all Mk IV tanks were the same color in Gaza as they were in France: Dark Khaki. The color I use is Tamiya XF-52 Flat Earth. I would paint it this color and over spray it with the same color lightened about 30-40% That sounds like a lot but after you gloss coat it, wash it, and dry brush and even add a flat coat the color will darken down. Also you need to take into account the hot Palistine sun would fade out the paint. A Humbrol equivalent is #29 Matt Earth. If I can help any further just contact me off line.

I recall a reference in a war artist's memoir of him sheltering by a wrecked tank from the earlier battles and noting it was a yellowish colour. The book is not to hand but I'll post the quote when I can.
