Who Used Whose Guns?

Recently I've been stocking up on various Masterclub guns and painting them up according to references I've found on Wikipedia.  (They're very nicely molded but unfortunately extremely fragile and irreparable if damaged.)  They make quite a variety, and mix up various types in each package.  One example is three SMLE's and three other Lee-Enflields which I guess are MLE's (unfortunately the Wikipedia article on Lee-Enfields doesn't show an original MLE).

But my question is, when I noticed how, during the civil war in German after WW1, there were different types of armored vehicles used by both sides which I assume were battlefield captures.  What about personal weapons like rifles?  Would it be credible to depict any factions as using anything other than German guns?

I have seen many pictures of german civil war and never I have seen freikorps or red fighters using british light weapons.

These, in miniature, should be fairly-well indistinguishable from the .303 MLM as well.  Skennerton lists many changes between the several marks of MLMs and between Mk I MLE and the improved Mk I* but there is not much to differentiate them at a quick glance.

I doubt if many found their way out of the British Empire while they were even vaguely still current.  Even within the Empire "military calibres" (not just the arms) were tightly controlled in various parts for much of the time.  The British, perforce, knew more about insurgency than they would have wanted to. 

Any substantial quantites of captured British arms and ammunition in German hands would presumably have been repatriated following the armistice - but I don't have any information on that offhand.

Well, Germany did manage to retain several captured British tanks after the armistice, as well as a number of Mosin Nagant rifles which were later sold to Finland.  (No knowledge if they had ammunition for same.)  Also I have seen a photograph of a captured Russian armored car, supposedly from the postwar period.  So I admit that so far it's all conjecture.

I have seen many references, pictures, and model figures of Germans with Lewis Guns.
