British tank in new movie
Permalink

Apparently there is a new WW1 movie coming on Christmas called I believe War Horse. The preview shows a British Tank couldn't tell if it was Mk I or Mk IV. In the clip the horse leaps it. Hope they make it authentic.

Well, I looked still picture of trailer and it is Mk IV, because it has short gun barrel and white-red-white stripes on the nose.

Film looks good. Hopefully the story isn't too pathetic.

I really enjoyed the stage playa couple of months ago.it was the highlight of a few days in London. Its a bit like black beauty updated to WW1. One of the main effects are the puppet horses . I found this a brillant idea. I however wonder if the transfer to the big screen is really a good idea.

Since the forum is "Tanks" I won't merge but will point to the earlier discussion in another forum area - http://landships.activeboard.com/t38493445/war-horse/.

Not necessarily - I had a report that there was another Mark IV replica built in New Zealand by the Jackson organisation. This was only by word of mouth so it can't be considered reliable. Perhaps the second one was built for the Tank Museum.

Regards,

Charlie
