A "combat loss" for identification
Permalink

In 1969-70 I was in an armored cavalry regiment, and when our equipment was badly damaged or destroyed it was termed "a combat loss".  Presumably a 1917-8 report of survey similarly accounted for this tracked vehicle.  An identification of the remains and any details of its unit and demise would be appreciated.  This real photo postcard has no writing on the back.

Starting with the obvious: it is (or was) a Renault FT.

Can't see a turret, so cannot say whether it was machine-gun or cannon equipped.

Has the "spades" playing card symbol.

That will be one for Michel, I expect. I'm sure he'll come up with the goods in due course.
