More on Flirt II's number

Carrying on with Henrik D's question:

As built, British tanks would have been issued with a 3 (then 4) digit War Department census number, so Flirt II would have started life as '2179'. After the end of WW1 the system changed and numbers had a T prefix, so Flirt II became T179. This was the number worn when Flirt II was on show outside the Tank Museum before she was restored and sent to Lincoln.
