It's always the Track's!!

Those incredibly detailed aftermarket sets are being made for WWII equipment.
WWII is one of the most popular model subjects ever.
WWI is one of the least popular.

Pretty simple answer. You could ask similar questions that could be answered with the same response... There are models even of paper projects that never got off the drawing board, of German WWII afvs! Why are much more significant vehicles from WWI not being made into models? Why did Revell and Tamiya never make WWI afvs? Etc etc etc.

Friul do make tracks for the FT-17, which is a strange decision as the fragile connections between the suspension and hull aren't really up to supporting the weight of white metal tracks.

There are resin tracks from Accurate Armour for British tanks, they're link and length rather than indy-link.

Of course both are 1/35th scale

I've got a plastic bag bought from the odds and sods bin at an IPMS Nationals (UK) a few years ago. It contains the requiste PLASTIC bits to build a set of tracks (1/35) for the Russian spin off from the FT 17. These would probably do for an FT 17 or a Fiat 3000 so somebodey makes (or made) such track sets. I also Have a 1/35 Italian kit from the 70s of the A7V and this again contains tracks in the form of all the seperate components. Apart from this when building my own scratch builds in 1/32 (Mark V* Female, LK II and Fiat 2000) I've had to build my own tracks (and a tedious job it was too) howeer there is one advantage as its possible to add the individually battered look that treads took on after some running.

Howdy fellas,

Glad to see the feedback, but dissappointed at the answers....NOT you fellas mind you, but, the fact that WWI is that much less popular than say WWII. I'm not surprised, I just wanted to establish some feedback on the issue.
Reason being is; that most of the major manufacturer's are overly slow to respond to the marketplace, but the same can't be said for the burgeoning Aftermarket industry.
Right now we are fortunate to be experiencing a virtual explosion in the AM part of the hobby {and a bloody good thing it is too!}. But most of these small AM firms rely {fortunately} on marketplace input to helpsteer their efforts because they really can't afford to make a 'dog' of a seller......

I guess what I'm trying to say is that the way to actually create more 'popularity' for our wee corner of the hobby world is by creating a slowly growing groundswell of interest for it.

Come to think of it, I think I'll pull my soapbox out from under the bed and badger you fellas about this on a new Topic thread to see if anyone's interested....

I believe the Fiul FT17 tracks (which are exquisite) will also work for the Schneider CA1. At lest, they are the same size as the poorly cast tracks that came with the Commander's series Schneider.

1/35 tracks on the market
RPM plastic (they are pretty bad, but better than the ones that coem i nteh box for ft-17)
Model cellar maeks Mk.IV tracks thsoe are good
fruilmodels ft-17, expensive and not that great, a paint to make, and als othere are some whippet resin ones never saw the mmyself though
