the centenary of the great war will be upon us in less than two years and I was thinking, there is another thread on this subject but I thought I would raise it again;
I was thinking of emailing the model companies and asking them to produce more Great War figures and kits, any opinions on this?.
No harm doing it, I'd expect that they'll be many releases, but as far as the major companies are concerned (Read Airfix, Tamiya & the like), they'll be either re-releases of old kits, possibly retooled, or new models of "Old friends", so Mk1, A7V, RR Armoured car and the like. I'd not expect any soft-skins or lesser-known AFVs or guns.
You are so right but unfortunately as far as afvs are concerned the leading plastic 1/72 manufactures seem only bothered in tiger tanks and similar ilk !
One can only hope that some of the smaller manufactures and the new boys on the block like S-model will be more forward thinking!
Latil TAR or Renault EG from RPM would be superb - think i'd prefer the Latil TAR. Would love more gun and tractor combos - FWD Model B and 6 inch 26 cwt Howitzer, Holt Caterpillar and 8 inch howitzer, one of those massive German tractors
