I just tried the Models section of the website with Chrome/Firefox and Safari browsers - seems to be working ok with these. I use Mac OS X 10.11 - unfortunately

I don't have a Windows machine in the house.

The menu on the models page is a vertical accordion driven by CSS - I'd try clearing out your local cache so you get a clean copy of the CSS files from the server.

Edit: sorry "clearing out your local cache" is "remove temporary internet files" in Microsoft speak.

Wayne McCullough's 6inch howitzer model has been uploaded to Landships II. The model can be built as a standalone artillery model or with some modifications as a howitzer carried by Wayne's Gun Carrier Mark I model. In addition the wheels can be built as standard wooden wheels, with extensions or with girdles.

The model is available in a number of colours and camouflage patterns:
- Khaki
- Light & Dark Brunswick Green
- Light & Dark Brunswick Green with Ochre separators
- Green & Brown
- Light & Dark Brunswick Green & Ochre

Wayne McCullough's 1:48 Schneider CD models have been uploaded to Landships II.

There are two versions available - a short bed with capstan and a long bed version without.

A new model by Don Weeks is available on Landships II - the Holt One Man Tank.

This is modelled in 1:24 and 1:50 and a 1:24 White model is bundled in the download file.

A new cardmodel designer - Alexander Bondar from the Ukraine

Alexander has been releasing free 1:50 models of WW1 and Interwar subjects on Russian forums and has allowed Landships II to host his

models. I'll gradually put his models on Landships II over the next few weeks to avoid setting off a feeding frenzy among

the downloaders - I don't want to blow our monthly bandwidth allocation.

First model is a Hejaz Railway Armoured Railcar - for those with elephantine memories - there have been discussions about these

in the forum. They appear to have been constructed by German engineers from Ehrhardt armoured trucks to provide some level

of protection for trains on the Damascus - Medina railway line.

Another Alexander Bondar 1:50 model. This one is of the Ehrhardt Panzerkampfwagen M1906. This was a very early attempt by

Heinrich Ehrhardt to interest the German and/or Austro-Hungarian Armies in armoured vehicles. An initial proposal for an armoured

Ehrhardt truck was rejected but a similar vehicle with a 7.7cm high angle gun to attack balloons was built in prototype form. After some

initial interest the German Army eventually rejected the vehicle.

I've been dribbling the Alexander Bondar models onto Landships II so I don't blow the bandwidth limits.

The bandwidth is holding up pretty well so here's another one - a 1:50 Rolls-Royce Mk.1 1920 Pattern armoured car.

Another Alexander Bondar model - this one is pretty obscure - the Dennis Armoured Car.

The Dennis armoured car was built in Hong Kong using the chassis of a Dennis truck about 1925 for the Hong Kong Volunteer force. It was funded by private donations and was used for policing and security until the Japanese invasion in 1941.

Another Alexander Bondar model - this one is pretty mainstream - the Austin Series I Armoured Car.

48 Series I Austin armoured cars were ordered by the Russian Army in Sept 1914. After delivery and modification

they were deployed in the spring of 1915. The Austin is the classic Russian armoured car - two MG turrets immediately

behind the driver's cabin.

New month - new bandwidth allocation...

New Alexander Bondar 1:50 cardmodel.

This subject is fairly obscure - a Filtz Armoured Tractor.

This was an armoured shell dropped onto a Filtz agricultural tractor and was one of the numerous 1915 French prototype vehicles

constructed to break through barbed wire entanglements. It was a failure since a wheeled vehicle couldn't cross the cratered landscape of

the front and its trench crossing capability was slight at best.

New Section added to the website - 3D Print files.

In a similar way to the cardmodels it seems reasonable to offer free .stl files created for WW1 models.

(.stl are print files for 3D printers)

Arie Dijkhuis' Limber for the GB Modelli K16 gun is the first one.

I've had "issues" with .rar archives on Mac OS X and decided to go with the older but universal .zip archive format.

If everyone hates this idea I'll take it down but "one must move with the times..."

And... there's a new artillery article on the German 21cm Mörser M99.

New article on the Japanese 20cm & 24cm Type 45 (1912) Howitzers

Saw a reference to the 20cm Howitzer on a Russian website and decided to document the howitzers. There are two 24cm Type 45

howitzers at the Beijing Military Museum but hardly anyone seems to have taken images of them.
