As I stated earlier, and in an effort to open up the spectrum of potential projects in these inaugural Group Builds here at Landships, I want to add a non-tracked, or 'softskin' category to the mix. I feel this would allow those of us who are in the mood to build a non-tracked vehicle to join in on the fun {me included}. The Build parameters will be exceptionally loose, thereby providing as wide a range as is possible, and hopefully increase the amount of participants...
Here at the rules;
Operational Overview
The idea of this communal group build is to pick out a non-tracked vehicle from the period 1914 thru 1918. This could be any of several vehicles, including experimental's, one-off's, production models, etc, etc. The only limiting factor will be the time frame established above. Your chosen vehicle can be from any country, and/or any conflict from that time period. To help potentially widen the subject matter of the Build, all manner of armoured car will also be allowed even though they are not technically either truck's or softskins.
Rules and Regulations
1) Any scale is acceptable 2) Any vehicle designed, put-to-paper, built, used, tested, and/or fielded as a truck, softskin, or armoured car. This would include both single axle and double/multi axle vehicles by definition. 3) A Diorama, Vingette, or Stand Alone Model is acceptable 4) For dioramas or vingettes, any conflict or engagement during that time period. 5) Have fun and enjoy the build!
Build Element
Participants may enter as may pieces as they wish.
I hope everyone approves of this additional, side-by-side Build. It is just part of an effort to increase the participation and enjoyment level here at Landships. Besides that, I must confess to being a tad selfish about the whole thing since I was also looking for an excuse to include my 1/32nd scale Airfix Omnibus conversion to a 'Bill' Bus in a Group Build of some sort.....
Hope to see everyone at least give this a try!
warm regards,
Tread.
OH!.....BTW, something to remember. If there's anyone out there who is hesitating joining in on these Group Builds because they feel suspect of their modeling abilities, or, that it's just simply been too long since the last time they built anything.....PLEASE reconsider and participate in these Builds, because this would be the perfect opportunity to get back in the swing of building...I would be honoured to lend a hand, or aid in any way, those who seek a little advice or help building along with us!
