The programme of events for Tankfest this year at the Tank Museum, Bovington has been released - as suspected the Mk IV Male and A7V replicas will recreate the first ever tank vs tank battle at Villers Bretoneux;

I'll also be there with the Great War Society portraying Mk IV Tank crew - as well as the uniforms we will also have various tank-related items on display, Lewis guns, 6 pounder rounds etc

Hopefully see some of you there?

I will be there on the Sunday as I work Saturdays. Do my best to say Hi to you at some point during the day. Make sure that tank keeps working, can't wait for the displays. Oh and to stalk the WW1 Hall.

Not long now - the Mk IV vs A7V battle is at midday, and WW1 living history wise there will be Mk IV Tank crew and A7V Tank crew.

There will also be TWO Rolls Royce armoured cars in the arena, the museum's and one coming over from Ireland

They are due to have an event in summer next year with the centenary but have no idea what it will be like - they left it late to get in touch with WW1 living history groups as most are booked up for 2014 long before they were asking

Missed it! :(

I've been looking after a poorly Dad so couldn't make it this year. Would have loved to have had a natter and a landship beer with. Sounds like you had a fun day, can't wait to see some photos.

On the up side I may get to Bovi this weekend and with luck get my female sponson measurements. :)

After Bov in Jan and Saumur last month, couldn't spare the time. But some kind person has uploaded this comprehensive footage: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zO_cQF4-FBA

Goosepimples guaranteed. Or is that just me? The commentator (might be David F) wouldn't win any prizes for pronunciation of Beutepanzer, but you can't have everything.
