The photo is from a photo album with the following description:
Tank of Chang Tsung Chang's -2-7 armies
Zhang Zongchang (also Chang Tsung-ch'ang or here Chang Tsung Chang) (13.02.1881-03.09.1932)
Was a Chinese warlord in Shandong in the early 20th century. Zhang Zongchang proved to be one of the more capable warlord generals, making effective use of armoured trains.
Does anyone have more information about it? The vehicle immediately reminds me of the TOG tanks.
Edit:
Ok, I had not remembered where I got this photo. In my opinion it really is the "revised" American M 1921. Presumably, the armament (tower) was removed prior to delivery to China.

Interesting - it would be great if we could see a larger version. It does not, to my mind, look especially like the M1921, which had the driver's position at the front and couldn't have mounted a hull gun there.
Perspective makes it a little tricky to work out whether the upper track slopes down towards the back or not, but I'd say it does, which also is out of keeping with the M1921 - it had a horizontal track return.
Finally, the M1921 had a sizable turret with a large cupola, whilst this tank has...what? It's hard to say, given the small size of the photo, but it's certainly rather different from the American tank.
The M1921 was revised in the mid-20s as the T1 Medium, getting new tracks, perhaps a new engine, and some changes to the engine deck. If there was a further revision, I know not.
