1918 Ministry of Munitions steam locomotive
Permalink

This is Kerr Stuart 'Wren' Class locomotive 3114, built in 1918 for the Ministry of Munitions and worked at an arms dump in Driffield during the war. It has been restored by the Phyllis Rampton Trust and is seen here at Devil's Bridge Station on the Vale of Rheidol railway, offering driver experience for just £5 to restore one of the Vale of Rheidol locomotives - with me at the regulator!

That's a beautiful little loco, Rob, and Rheidol sounds an apt name for a place where you can drive such a machine (pronounced close to 'ride all').

You must have enjoyed that loads?
