"Fray Bentos is a 15-20 minute short film, following the exploits of a British mark IV tank and her crew during World War 1. Fray Bentos (named after the tinned corn beef issued to soldiers at the time) took part in the Battle of Passchendaele in August 1917. After attacking two enermy positions, she became stranded in a shell hole in No Mans Land. Over the next three days and nights her crew fought off several German counter attacks and suffered overwhelming hardship in cramped, claustrophobic conditions."
Sounds interesting. I must say, after reading about Fray Bentos last year, I thought it would be make a great story for a film - although a full-length one, not just a short feature. 15-20mins doesn't sound like much to cover it, so like Rob, I hope it turns out well.
On their facebook page on October 10th, Tin Hut productions announced "So what else is happening I hear you ask? Well, the proposal we sent to Channel 4 to develop 'Fray Bentos' into a drama/doc is still very much alive and kicking. We've got everything crossed! We have also been developing a management training package based around the workings of a professional film crew. Amazingly, we've already had serious interest from a major retailer"
Since then there have been two tantalising references to "exciting developments" and on the 8th of November that they had a very important meeting on Monday (11th). No specific reference to this particular film, but good luck to the team, we live in hope.
