Should there be any out there still working in 54mm this may be of interest. They've announced the pending release of both the 13Pdr, and 18Pdr field guns. I've been waiting for someone to give us a decent rendition of these pieces for a long time.
I have just been on their website and the first release is L Battery RHA and the action at Néry, 1st September 1914. 13pdr, limber and four figures and shell cases etc
it looks stunning.

The finest stories of the Great War are those that will never be told.
This is the first release of the 13/18 Pdr in any scale that has accurately reproduced the 2nd class C wheels; so unique to Brit field guns of the period. The sculptor has taken great care with his work, and the extra effort put forth to get the spoke arrangement right speaks volumes for Tommy's War Miniatures. I loudly applaud these new releases.
I suspect, since the 13Pdr is offered as a separate kit, they need an undamaged offering. A purist wanting to replicate the Nery scene might consider casting a wheel in another medium other than resin and molding the damage himself. Just a thought.
In an exchange with Darren of TommysWar, in addition to the corrrect wheels, I've learned the barrel, repouperator, and carriage are all cast separately. These kits won't be cheap , but accuracy and fidelity of detail will be unmatched.
The Nery diorama and all it's components took 2 years to complete, as you can imagine there was a lot of research involved and two of the figures (casualty and figure passing the shell) were sculpted in 2012, with the other two members of the team in 2013.
I did consider what to do with the gun as regards to damage. My main consideration was that to make the set commercially viable the gun had to be provided 'complete' to allow me to broaden my market. I did think about including a broken wheel but that would have added to the cost, and of course I did have to consider what effect the addition of more parts would add to the price.
However, the wheel is resin and I think its within most modellers skill set to remove a section of wheel rim quite easily.
I do hope you all like the guns, we did really put in a lot of work in to them, I'm happy, but of course if you guys are all happy then that's the key for me.
We're 75% complete on our next project (which is a vehicle this time) but I do plan to release more artillery as well.
