Your Welcome there are quite a few others available I'm still grappling with the search terms, will post a few more later mostly smaller mortars 58s, 150, 240etc and the 37mm trench gun.... some though are conspicuous by their absence 65 and 80 mm Mountain guns for example... so far....

Thank you - I've started mining the manuals for Landships II - the 220mm Schneider howitzer Landships II article now has some drawings.

The book of drawings of the 75mm Mle 1897 is a fabulous find - you could just about build the gun from the drawings.

Regards,

Charlie

 Pat Excellent Findwink

Heres another very interesting book detailed info with good drawings too...

L'artillerie Schneider-Canet à l'Exposition universelle de 1900

Another Mortar type weapon although not described as such, the "Archer" Canon d'infanterie de 85 millimètres, modèle 1918 only vaguely heard of this before and rather a surprise to find, as I expected something else entirely...

I dub thee Sir Galahad but hope you aren't translated with the Grail as the original Galahad was - well not until you've found more in Gallica.

I notice the manual is "Titre V" (Volume V) - so there's probably more about the GPF in Gallica - provided the search engine can be persuaded to

disgorge them.

Charlie

Règlement de manoeuvre de l'artillerie de montagne1905 1914 includes pack loads, detailed

Another one - Canon de 155 L Mle 1917 Schneider (not the howitzer - the gun).

The 155mm gun was in service with a number of European countries between the wars. The Wehrmacht used captured 155mm guns for coastal defence in WW2.

155mm manual from Gallica

The manual has lots of drawings of the gun and its transport vehicles

Had a thought....

Maybe it would be a smart idea to aggregate all the links to the manuals into an article on Landships II.

It would save having to search the forum for the links and be a resource for the casual researcher.

What say you?

Charlie

Another thank you for these!

As Charlie says above, "you could just about build a gun from these plans." And that's what I'm about to do.  Next week, I will visit a  museum  to make measurements so that I can make dimensioned engineering drawings of French 75 mm Modele 1897, then scale down for a 1:10 to 1:5 model. The French document, with its colorized drawings and especially the isometric views, are a great supplement to the orthometric, monochrome drawings in the US Army TM 9-1305.
