Schneider CA1 suspension brackets
Permalink

The Schneider CA1 didn't use the classical Holt suspension as the St-Chamond (and A7V) did. The suspension was somewhat similar to that on the later FT.

Attached are a couple of images of the Schneider at Saumur showing the springs and what looks like a fairly substantial framework supporting the caps

for the springs. Anyone have any good images of this, or a decent drawing of how this was organised?

Regards,

Charlie

Here's an overview of the suspension. I have some detail views of the Schneider when it was at APG, but I think this explains the layout better.Schneider.jpg

Thank you Steve.

The suspension on the Schneider doesn't seem to have been very effective judging by a ECPAD video that

Google turned up on the Schneider and St-Chamond tanks - Schneider video

Charlie
