Help 8.8cm GrSchrZdr

Hi I was hoping someone can help me get more info,history on this. Im a gun collector and dont know much about this kind of artillery. Any info would be great so I can pass it on to the right collector. The writting seems to be German w/mark 8.8cm GrSchrZdr.  Thank you. Bryan

8.8cm was mostly a German naval calibre except for small numbers of Flak guns towards the end of the war.

Perhaps the BCON forum (www.bocn.co.uk) may be able to help - would be useful if you can get an image of the markings.

[edit] Checked on the BCON forum - the fuze is a WW1 German Naval fuze used for 8.8cm AA guns - http://www.bocn.co.uk/vbforum/threads/85300-Need-clarification-on-a-fuze.

It looks like the manufacturer's stamps are on the nose cone of the fuze.

The German field artillery and foot artillery 9cm Kanone C/1873 was really an 8,8cm weapon expressed to 9cm.  However, in the case of this projectile I do not think it is for the 9cm Kanone or the Naval 8,8cm S.K. L/30 or L/35.  I think this projectile is for a post WW1 piece.
