Book on Holt and Best history.

A large and impressive volume (400+ pages) from a Mr. Jack Alexander. Read it here.

There's a lot of stuff on the contact between Holt and Hornsby, etc,and Chapter 5 covers 1914-18.

Much that I hadn't read before, but, as always, not error-free. E.g. p274: at least he doesn't claim that Holts were built in Budapest, but says that a captured A7V was used against the Germans, and that the rest were converted into cargo carriers. Unfortunately, a lot of otherwise commendable books have this sort of weak spot. (Not as many as Albert Mroz, of course)

But worth a read (especially as it's free) for the good stuff about events in the USA, SPGs,artillery tractors, et cetera. The author has had access to Holt's assistant's diaries and suchlike.
