It is a German 15cm lg. s.F.H. 1913. There used to be a German 7,7cm lFK 1896 n/A and a French 40 or 8 box car at the same site.

Looks like the Mississippi State Capitol building.

These pieces used to be beside the Mississippi War Memorial building in Jackson ( the war memorial has no other exhibits), near the state capitol. They were removed, and based on these photos, must now be back.

Outside the Capitol building there should be two guns:

German 15cm Krupp sFH13, Lange Serial Number 973 made in 1916

German 15cm Krupp sFH13, Lange Serial Number 2837 made in 1918

At the State War Museum - I don't know the address - there should be a:

German 77mm gun C96nA Serial Number 4859 made in 1907

Maybe not - the serials up to about 4700 or so were all made in 1896-98 and reworked in 1906-07. If there are two dates below the loading port on the breech ring it's one

of the reworked guns.

I suspect part of the markings is obscured. "Gg.Sp." is the Spandau organisation where most of the FK 96s were converted from a.A to n.A types.

I've attached an image of the breech ring of another FK 96 n.A where the date markings can be clearly seen. The term "gef" = "accepted" and "abg" = "modified".
