It pretended me to get sie recently interesting plans hereinto tanks ... I ask to help :) ... It it too exact sa , but it was it been possible was already on the ground to make these plans model :) ... it can my someone thin lines to large pictures of details , these vehicles ???? I begin soon doing R17 or Mark IV in scale 1:15 . Mark IV will be giants ......uuuuch
And yet hmm , the patern of painting possibly somewhere ???????
Treadders here . I am superbly glad you were able to find such excellent plans for the British Mark IV!!! Did you find it, or did someone here finally come up with the plans for you? Either way, just happy to see you finally got them
Now, since it seems you are still deciding on whether to build the FT-17 or the Mark IV first, maybe you should think about doing a Poll? I think it would be a good idea to start a Poll right here at Landships and ask the membership here which they think would be a more attractive project. I mean, you couldn't ask for a better, more informed crowd than the buggers here at Landships now could ya? And, just to 'prime-the-pump' so to speak, I cast my early vote for the British Mark IV !!
And to further the cause, I would like to reach out and help in a financial way as well....if you can build up the Mark IV in some kind of 'kit' form, or set of substructures, I would be most interested in purchasing one from you. This still goes for the Whippet as well {as I said in an earlier post on another thread}. Just let me know Andy
Mark IV is large very and I think now how and from what him to make .. I do not it plan to make from resin complete equipment :{ ..This is great simply for and to buy heavy cost 15 KG of silicone on form very ...Whippet the same I - think that the hulk and chassis however from cardboard or the artist ( the plans and mesh of part to Whippet I have - the the most work over it sticking the screws and rivets I - have only obviously to copy and to to glue together )and the equipment - and it is this very - a lot of however from resin .How problem of such great forms and casts for me would be to solve large problem constructively ...There now I will think over this yet ......hahaha , and it can begin building two hulks from time :p - they for You - there now cost would be very large - lots time etc ....... And what will you say about model Mark in scale 1:15 VP ??? It is in sale supposedly ??I saw from photoethed parts this model also - also in 1:15 - link here ----
The armament was no different; in fact there were hermaphrodite Mk IV tanks as well. The differences were mostly in the internal details. The Mk V had a revised gearing system to enable the tank to be more easily controlled. It also had wider tracks, a commanders cupola at the rear of the tank, a rear machine gun position, and a different towing shackle (the Mk IV used the same shackle as on the Mk I - III).
By the way, great effort with the Whippet!! It looks like it was made from real metal.
Methinks {maybe}, our good Andy is pointing his query towards the more narrowly focused word of "hermaphrodite" or "composite" when applied to either the Mark IV or the Mark V......?
Actually no, it's probably my own confusion, but I thought maybe there was a mix-up in the understanding between the Composite v Male/Female and the Mark IV v V....no matter, I took a better look at the schematic Andy provided and realized it was in fact a Mark V Composite. I suppose {?} if he wanted to build a regular Mark V 'Female' all he would have to do is plug the starboard side sponson into the port side hull and for the 'Male' visa versa.....correct?
Say me such thing - I do not it know from 1 WW armoured weapon for very - am only modest modeller :P... If in model make two equal side towers , then with Mark V will be Mark IV ??????.. I more and more care to make in 1:15 this model and I wonder continually ......
Hello :) Say me such thing - I do not it know from 1 WW armoured weapon for very - am only modest modeller :P... If in model make two equal side towers , then with Mark V will be Mark IV ??????.. I more and more care to make in 1:15 this model and I wonder continually ...... Best regards - Andy
Hi Andy,
Unfortunately the Mark IV and Mark V do appear very different in lots of areas. The Mark V has a rear cupola that is not on the Mark IV, the shackle at the front of a Mark IV is the same as the Mark I - III, the sides of the two tanks are completely different due to the gearing, the cab front was redesigned for the Mark V, and there are more that would be easier to show with a diagram.
If you were to just make the tank with identical sponsons left and right, you would get a male or female Mark V depending on which sponson type you used.
I've attached a diagram showing the difference between the cab front on a Mark IV and V. This diagram is not to scale.
Howdy Mark, Actually no, it's probably my own confusion, but I thought maybe there was a mix-up in the understanding between the Composite v Male/Female and the Mark IV v V....no matter, I took a better look at the schematic Andy provided and realized it was in fact a Mark V Composite. Hi Tread,
Exactly right. Which is pretty much what happpened (in reverse) to make hermaphrodites in the first place. It was to give female tanks some anti-tank capability.
Thank for information , in total Mark to possibly and Mark of V , but I have the problem - whether this version fought during 1 WW ????? And whether someone with you possesses the patern of painting of hereinto version ??? Hmm , Soviet painting pleases to me it very ........I understood in what thing probably it is - two cannons - version male - two machine-guns - version female .... I in this case try on to cannons probably :)....Version komposit is for me ugly ...:P ...... I thank with all and ask about yet ........
