There is an auction now on Ebay, for a very nice photo I have never seen before, of three A7V's, with crew (Gretchen, Cyclops & Baden I). Check it out at:
That photo is also in Mark Whitmore's book "Mephisto". He gives the AWM number as C04603. I did a quick search at the AWM and apparently it was copied from a photograph taken from a German officer at Harbonnieres, August 1918.
As an unfortunate aside, when I visited the Queensland Museum in 2004, I tried to get hold of a set of plans of Mephisto. It is now out of print and I suspect the book may be as well.
That's the book I've got with the foldout plans included. On the plans it says that by writing to the Queensland Museum you can also buy a poster with a cut-away isometric drawing, which I did get while I was there, and a more comprehensive set of three technical plans showing dimensions and internal details. While I was there, I asked about the plans but they couldn't find any in the store. When I returned home, I emailed them asking whether any were available but unfortunately they were out of stock and out of print.
P.S.: And yes, postage is a killer. For me, nearly everything has to come in from overseas. The "Mephisto" book was the exception, rather than the rule.
