Mark Vs in Lugansk: How many?

Citizens! There is an occasional rumour that in Lugansk there are, in addition to the two restored Mark Vs, another two "in storage." What exactly this means is not clear, and there are no further details. Now someone with a reputation for knowing what he's talking about has inserted the claim into the Wikipedia article on the Mk V, not offering any sources to support it.

Can anyone clear things up? Are there another two Mk Vs in Lugansk?

I doubt it.

In David Bullock's "Armored Units of the Russian Civil War: Red Army" page 39, he states that there are only two survivors in Lugansk. I suspect that someone has seen photos of two tanks in the open air, and photos of (the same) two tanks undergoing restoration and concluded that 2 + 2 = 4, when in this case they only equal two.

I would be delighted to be proved wrong, however.

That's what I suspect. This bloke has contributed a lot and can generally be relied on, but this seems to be one of those unchallenged Internet factoids.

I'll ask him if he's got any references. Ta, Gwyn.

There's been rumours of two more "In a scrapyard", doing the rounds for years.
No photos have ever surfaced, so I think it's safe to assume that the two on display are the sum total of survivors in Lukhansk.

Ah. Are they parked next to 5 A7Vs?

Thanks for the info.
