Looks like a standard 24cm behind, with the round & transport case for a 38cm round.

The front view is from the book "50 Jahre Rheinmetall Düsseldorf 1889-1939" - part of it is on Google books.

According to the text the mortar was 40cm calibre and first developed in 1909. The text goes on to say this is

suspect since the 25cm Minenwerfer wasn't developed until 1911. There are differences between the 40cm and 38cm

Minenwerfers but the basic idea is the same.

I looked up the 2010 post - Arie said there were two deployed to the Voges in 1916 - both expired with barrel explosions.

The heavy 38cm projectile was 400 kg - max. range 400m - sounds a bit like the Davy Crocket nuclear recoilless rifle - the gun crew

was inside the lethal radius of the weapon.
