Holt tractor: track assembly source??

Yo Treaders,

I've only ever seen a white metal kit in OO scale (1/87, I think); a diecast model in 1/48 costing $600 or so (gulp!); and I think someone makes/made a 1/76 scale resin kit. And that's all I've seen, I'm afraid... The first two were railway and agricultural equipment modelmakers respectively.

The following company have an HO scale Holt 75 in their catelog at $55 but I have no idea what the quality is as there is no photo

And some firm called BK makes a 1;76 Holt , I found this reference - "Some new models now available from BK Modelcraft. These include a Holt Tractor and gun",

Ah yes, BK Modelcraft are the ones I was thinking of with the resin kit. I think they may now be defunct, though.

There's also Rio Grande Models, they're the ones I mentioned who make agricultural and railway related kits in 1/87 scale (I posted about them ages ago but no-one took a blind bit of notice ) - go to the bottom of the linked thread:

Of course, these are all in completely the wrong scale for Treaders!

Rio Grande are the ones listed in the link in my first post. They also do a Best tractor that might form the basis of an early US tank attempt if you like modelling with a microscope.

Treadhead - Best Tractor merged with Holt Tractor; forming one company. In my manual collection I have the Artillery Tractor, 20 ton Holt 120HP. It has umpteen photos, and I would attach a few if I knew how. Contact me off-site and I'll scan the track link assembly for you.

Having dug around a little more, I found that BK Modelcraft ceased production in January. I rather get the impression they were a very small outfit, literally a one-man operation. I suspect Jorg Schneider's models of the Holt and 8" howitzer on Landships were made from their kits, as several of his others were from BK's kits:

On the plus side, it seems that Matador Models have taken over their range (although the Holt and 8" howitzer don't appear on their listings, they made produce them again with luck):

This is, of course, completely academic on this particular thread as they are entirely the wrong scale for Treadhead! To get back to his original query, no-one so far has found either a 1/32 or 1/35 scale kit of the Holt tractor.

1/87...HO scale,....1/76th...Sheeeesh!

Why is it I can never find what I want in armour in 1/35th, in aircraft in 1/48th, in ships in 1/350th and just about nothing available I really desire in a WWI set of clothes???

Boy!.......if I didn't have to 'make-a-living', I'd set out scratching about a Baker's Dozen of things I'd like to see made myself!!!!!
