A while back I got GB-Modelli's kit 72029 from Black Lion Decals. This kit is the mobile version. Unfortunately, I wanted to build this gun in a firing position, so it meant I had to scratchbuild a lot of parts myself...
If you are going to build this one, I suggest doing a lot of dry-runs before using glue. The fit can be tricky. My kit was slightly bent and suffered from mould misalignment, but the second one I have is fine...
The upper base is scratch built. The base plates and the wheels of the gun are casts of the GB-modelli kit 72035 Cannone da 254/40 su affusto De Stefano.
And after the obligatory Tamiya Buff air brushing, grass is added. I used grass from Bush and Noch in different lengths and different colours, mostly light colours to give the impression of dry grass. It was applied with a Noch Grassmaster...
Before building this one, I will prefer a other version of it in "Obice 305/17 su affusto Garrone". It is a long time ago I created the 149A... ;)
I also ordered decals for this gun. We will see. So there a lot of other projects. In the moment I have a lot of work by creating a Krupp 21cm Mörser in scale 1/72. The Mörser is finished and now I´m creating the diorama...
The Obice 305/17 su affusto Garrone is also a very nice gun. I haven't had the chance to buy this one (yet!)
So the 21cm Mörser will be your next project? Will you use the Strelets kit? This one will take a lot of work to turn it into a decent representation of the gun... Very nice gun crew though...
I use Mark Browns MBM kit of 21cm Mörser. You have to put much more details on it, so you have a lot of work too, but it is done and I like the result very much…
In the moment I have many problems to present pictures of it in this forum. My old image-provider is out of order and I have not found a new good provider until yet. So you can only see some pictures of this Mörser on FB now…
