Mephisto: another clue?

I'm getting a bit punch-drunk with photos of Mephisto lately, but I can't remember discussing this particular detail before.

In this stereopticon, there's the front horn of a Mk IV on the extreme right of each image. The two images are of different quality, so you have to juggle them a bit, but I think you can make out a number. If you magnify it by various means, you can see what might be a tarpaulin or something partly obscuring the number 57, 87, 97, or B7. I have no idea what it might signify, but maybe Gwyn or someone equally knowledgeable can draw some conclusions.

Thanks James and Steve. I haven't noticed this detail before, and since I don't study German tanks I almost didn't look at the thread...

I'm not sure what to suggest. The first character might be a B, but looks slightly too rounded.
