I would like to know if anybody here knows of a good source of information on the Austrian back packs for carrying the Schwarzlose 07. My assumption is the Bundesheer of the First Republic used the same system as the Austro-Hungarian Army in WW1. I've found footage of a three-person team during the Vienna street fighting in February 1934: one carrying the gun, a second the tripod, a third the gun shield. They all carry them using back packs.

Mario,

You would be better of trying the Axis History Forum. If that fails you could then try the Great War Forum, but that is more British/Commonwealth focused.
