Sparta Modelbau 1/35th 76mm Mortar
Permalink

Decided to build this Sparta kit.  It sat on the shelf for years because the mold pore plugs were horribly overkill.  Finally overcame the fear to attempt it.  I spent most of one night cleaning off mold plugs.  A few fragile parts broke and I replaced with scratch built replacements

Excellent model!  I'm impressed with the painted finish; looks very nice.   I remember this kit; seems it was originally listed as 1/32 scale.

Thank you 28Juni14 for the kind words. In terms of a 1/32nd version of this gun...Scale Link did a metal version of this mortar, in that scale.

Great model and great work!
I'm very happy to see it because I didn't know if I should buy it or not.
I have been a bit disappointed with the Sparta models after bad experiences with both LanciaZ and St Chamond...

Lostiznaos - this kit is very well detailed. However, the mold plugs are horrible. In some cases there is more resin in these plugs than the part itself. Plus, where they attach to the part is poorly planned.

I have started their LanciaZ and lost interest. I have the St Chamond and their A7V. The A7V is quite nice.
