I was involved with the programme and I couldn't tell you what the cost was so I'm afraid you'll just have to carry on wondering.

I have no idea, but having seen a TV production team at work, I suspect it was not the biggest cost in making the programme.

Well, whatever was the biggest cost, I can assure you it wasn't me!

Probably catering, I saw the BBC at work near where I used to work.

More seriously, there are some details (but no costs) of the project here, http://www.earthmoversmagazine.co.uk/jcb-team-helps-engineer-ww1-tank-centenary-tribute/  No doubt the actual figure is in JCB's promotions budget.

It definitely wasn't catering...

Remember that JCB didn't make the whole tank. They made the hull only. The costs will be in the accounts of the TV production company, not JCB.

Well they've started selling DVDs of the programme, so I imagine it cost more than they wanted it to!

It's cost would have been worked out exactly, before the program was commissioned. DVDs are a normal part of the making of programs these days. The program was made by North One Television. Just take a look at their other programs. https://www.imdb.com/search/title?companies=co0123995
