I have a question for you, Luis from Vargas Models and I are trying to figure out what type of bases i.e trenches, bunkers, pillboxes etc one may wish to have as a kit. He designs and produces mortars of the Great War as you know, but actually his specialty is in building bases for models. You can see some of his work and items for sale on his website http://vargasscalemodels.com/  , like  the wicker reventment wall sections, and the timber reventment wall sections along with the log wall emplacement and bunker kit. They will be predominantly 1/35 scale and possibly 54mm, if the interest is there possibly 1/72. He is also interested in producing some accessory kits, to accompany you in your diorama building, ideas of such items world be greatly appreciated. As a sneak peak as two what is too come with vargas models, Luis is currently designing the Mk1 British Pom Pom 37mm, photo’s attached, at this time he is thinking about including three types of bases, so you can build the one you like. Please if you would give us some ideas, and possibly photo’s of your idea’s. Your assistance will be great appreciated.

Hi Tim,
I wish all manufacturers would take this approach ! As far as accesories go it would be great to have boxes of shells either in stacked loads or as single items.These would need to cover all the main artillery pieces and could include boxes of small arms ammo too. To cover our beloved Landships we should have fuel cans,ammo boxes and track tools as well. Bases for artillery pieces would be good but would need to be in seperate component parts otherwise they would be too large and thus cost prohibitive. The list for these types of kits is as long as the trenches of the war itself I think but I've given you a start so good luck and I will see what else I can think of. Sorry I have no photos for you but a quick search should provide plenty.
