This is from the book "American Military vehicles of WW I" Albert Mroz

 

Page 26 FWD trucks on there way to England painted grey were unloaded from trains and painted green and sent to the US Army on the Mexican border after the March 1916 raid by Pancho Villa on Columbus New Mexico when the US Army really needed trucks.

Page 56 Harley Davidson motor cycles "Gray painted machines"

Page 93 11 Sept 1917 order all vehicles to be painted olive drab with 4 inch ID numbers after US

Page 111 Dodge cars painted a khaki color with white numbers

Page 112 Dodge cars  many still painted black when sent overseas

Page 26 7 FWD trucks on the way to north Russia on the Russian Merchant ship Suchan when it was captured on 2 October 1916 by the U48 and taken to Germany

page 29 FWD trucks made by Kissel in what looks like a 3 color camo scheme

page 32 when the liner Lusitania was sunk in May 1915 40 Trumbull cycle cars were lost with the ship and Issac trumbull was killed

page 295 A US Riker car captured being used by the German army
