Hi.

Does anyone know if Matador Models are still.trading?

So far, j have heard nothing back.

Any info would be much appreciated.

The website says it was updated last week, so there should be somebody home.

Not a word.

Have now seen some of their figures.
Terrible!
No wonder they are not shown on their website.

Hello Sniper (John Burridge), Matador Models were at the MAFVA/IPMS Cambridge show last year. (I know as I had a 3.5 hour drive from Durham...there and back!!)

Anyway, in answer to your question/query, Matador Models were still trading up to then, but they are notorious for not answering any form of correspondence.

Your best bet, (if you can travel), is to either go to the MAFVA show, or the IPMS Nationals in Telford, (usually November time), and see them in person.

Hope this helps you a bit.

Grant

Granty,

Many thanks for your message.
Having bought the three seated officers from Scale Link,I don't think I'll bother.
Certainly not worth the cost of travel, but I do very much appreciate everybody's input.

Cheers,

Sniper

Hello Sniper,

Yes, they aren't the best quality castings I've seen, but they do some unusual stuff.

I know Granty!

That's why I tried contacting him.

I'm doing a CCS in 009 and 00 and wanted the surgeon, nurse and casualty.

Never mind. It's quite surprising what one can achieve if you look at things in a different way.

The Langleys models shopkeepers make fairly good medics if one paints their costs white instead of brown!

Hello John - you've probably seen them already, but Bachmann do quite a nice set of nurses & casualties in 4mm scale (ref: 36-409):

Also, Modelu have some lovely figures including a couple of nurses in their range:

Kevin, (11th Armoured)

Many thanks.

I do have the Bachmann figures and hope to get some of the Modelu as well, but saw a reference to these Matador figures on the Scale Link website and was trying to get as many different figures/poses as I could.

It is frustrating when one is expected to pay up front (which I did) and, despite two follow-up letters enclosing an SAE and asking him/them to give me a call if writing was too much trouble, you get no reply at all!!

If you need figures are other items then go to www.wdmodels.com There are a few sets specific to what you need.

Many thanks for your post.

I do have some of the WD figures, but as the whole layout is based on a Casualty Clearing Station behind the Lines, I am trying to get as much variation into the personnel as possible.

Regards
