Finished & photographed this evening. My dirty old girl is complete at last...Â
It's been an interesting change of pace, building my first WW1 tank, the weathering especially - I swear that I actually channeled my inner 'lump of mud' in order to understand all the places muck & dust gathered on these beasts.
My goal was to get Dodo looking as close to her most famous 'selfie' as possible, though the double-height stack of POW cans on the rear just didn't look right in plastic... so I scaled back the roof stowage to something more in line with viewer expectations.

The simple truth is, if I'd piled things as high on the roof as they were in the photo, it would've looked 'unrealistic' to the uninformed viewer. Sometimes we - as creators - have to accommodate peoples' expectations and their ability to process / perceive / appreciate in order for an artistic endeavour to be successful.
I don't see it as a problem or an issue of accuracy, since I'm sure Dodo delivered many other loads besides the one she was photographed carrying that particular day in June 1917.
PS - I had word back, during the week, that photos of 'Dodo' have found their way to David Fletcher - apparently he was impressed. I've now got my fingers crossed, as there's the possibility of Bovvy using some images to show visitors what a Supply Tank was, alongside their physical exhibits.
Very nicely done!  I like the stowage on top. It's just the right amount without over doing it. I especially like the way you did the tracks - the coloring, and the subtle dirt on them - looks fantastic
That's a fantastic model, sir... hats off as they say. I think the stowage looks perfect, as you say, sometimes one has to compromise for a more realistic appearance. Did zou buy the decals directly from Penguin in Russia, or from somewhere else. cheers, McNab.
