"Best 75 " Tracklayer tank
Permalink

Hello, my latest model the US Best Tracklayer Tank,

I created the model based on pictures on the internet, even basic info is scarce.

Michel Boer of Black Lion Decals did the decals, thank you, Michel.

Now I need your expert advise.

There is this famous picture of the tank plastered with recruitment posters, three of them I could identify but the other two are still questionmarks.

Any idea what the text could be, perhaps there are clearer pictures somewhere?

Any suggestions are very much appreciated.

Hans van Oerle

Nice job Hans, unfortunately I have no idea as to what the posters are, but nice model. Good luck finding out what they are. By the way what scale is your model?

All the Best

Thanks Tim

Model is supposed to be 1/72 however because of lack of information much I have estimated from pictures.

Now the model is finished I am sure more info will pop up , but I did not want to wait any longer for this

There doesn't seem to be enough information in the Best Tracklayer image to figure out what the unknown posters are.

The location of that image is Union Square, San Francisco - the building behind the tank was an Insurance Company back then.

I did find an image of a Best 75 Tracklayer - the tank is a shell wrapped around that vehicle. I think there's maintenance book online for

the Best 75 but I can't remember if it has dimensions.

Regards,

Charlie

Thanks Charlie,

No dimensions you are right, but enough info to build the complete thing!

Yes also 3D print,

It feels a bit like cheating to all the modellers that glue rivet by rivet, but else I would never started with WW I models!

Hi Hans,

I have the exact same feeling! It indeed feels a lot like cheating on the good old scratchbuilding. But then again; been there, done that.. smile

With kind regards,

-Arie.
