French Artillery observers post

Does anybody have any information on a telescopic observers post/position/mechanism used by the french artillery.

It is shown in action in the ECPAD film http://archives.ecpad.fr/les-petits-trains-de-la-grande-guerre-2/ At 10 minutes 26 secs the sequence starts where a battery of 120L cannon mounted on Peigne-Canet system carriages fire salvo's from the 60cm railway track and the fall of shot is noted by the observer sat at the top of a telescopic post. At the end of the sequence the observer is brought down as the telescopic post collapses. Is the mechanism mounted on a railway wagon or is it free standing?

The 60cm railway artillery pieces were originally associated with fortresses and were designed to provide

extended fields of fire for fortresses. Perhaps the admins of www.fortiffsere.fr have seen that device in their researches

on fortresses and know something about it.

Interesting clip, by the way,  the Peigne-Canet system was operated as a unit of 2 guns. The clip shows a battery of two 2-gun units.

The 120mm de Bange barrel was interchangeable with the 155mm C de Bange barrel.
