Hello, all. Is there an especially good book on the Spartacist uprising and the Freikorps? the more photos the better. English is a plus, but not essential if the photos are abundant.

Thanks in advance,
sf

Greetings to Diorama1914,

Great source, thank you. I expected something obcure and unobtainable, as the Sparticist Uprising isn't exactly a hot topic at our local coffeehouses. I'll be sending for it right away.

I've enjoyed your website very much. Beautiful work!

You might also find some useful information by following the trail of one of the leaders of the Sparticusts-Rosa Luxemburg. This is the Wikipedia entry-

 Good Luck!

hello, Craig,

Thanks for the suggestion -- I wouldn't have thought of it. The sources I have are general Weimar-era histories. A couple are well illustrated, but the street fighting narrative is limited.

Diorama1914, once again, great info from you. A hard period to find information on. I can see many hours of my future unfolding before me on that web page. No crystal ball required.

I wonder how the axis history site gets around the sw.st.ka problem. It seems that it would come up from time to time, as mentioned in an earlier thread.

I didn't reply to you earlier because I was out of town, for part of the time (coincidentally) at the rather controversial Veterans of the Abraham Lincoln Battalion reunion.

It was interesting, but I'll go into it elsewhere.

Thanks again for helping the study of history-between-the-wars!
