One of its very few saving graces was a short clip of one of the C.L. Best Tracklayers taking part in a mock battle. Tim Rigsby was particularly impressed. I tried to find out who ran the site and where they got the clip from, but without success. Just to be on the safe side, I recorded it direct onto an Ipad, just in case anything should happen to the Youtube clip.
Alas, the other day I discovered that the Military Concept Channel has terminated its account, and all its docos have disappeared. I was thinking that the clip on my Ipad was all that had survived, but a spot of googling came up with something even better, that had been lurking in the British Pathe site. I hope you enjoy this:

There were 2 machines, this one and a sort of cylindrical one. Search "tracklayer" on the site.
